Hi there!
This is the personal web site of Michael Duerinckx.
I am a Hampshire-based web developer working with Carswell Gould. My job there is mainly to take care of the front-end development of web projects, although I spend a good deal of my time working with the back-end as well.
My formal education is actually a bachelor in electronics, which I completed June 2011, in evening school in Belgium. Since it was in evening school, I had the whole day to do other things. To the frustration of my mother, I didn’t actually get a job (with the exception of a week-long interim placement as a data cabler), but spent my time in my room programming.
That time spent in my room was not wasted, as I gained the vast majority of my web development knowledge working on a website called TheAudioPortal. That website did not turn out very popular, but it helped me actually get into a career in web development.
That said, I do indulge in other things than just web development. My attendance of a bachelor electronics course gives a good indication of where my other main interest lies. Electronics is now reduced to just a hobby, but I still much like crafting things.
The last biggie that’s left is music. Next to listening to a wide variety of styles, I like producing my own music on the computer. I started getting into that in 2008, mainly aiming for dance/trance, but lately I’ve been making ambient music. I like to think I’m the most successful with ambient, as I actually managed to pump out a complete 10-track album, which you can find over on my bandcamp page.
If you wish to get in touch with me about anything, go right ahead.
